The Missing

by Simin Paksirat

The Missing

Simin Paksirat's evocative play "The Missing" follows the lives of one family–mother and three grown daughters–in Iran today. The story belongs to the women at the center of this play, though others try to control it. The cost of struggle for justice is high. The consequences of claiming the moment, or believing and acting on belief, are extreme in the apartment these women share. More than one life is lost, as these women accept and command the bitter strength of self-determination.
